Our Story
Zayn & Zara is an evolution from a decades old family tradition that was part of the commencement of the rug industry in a small part of remote India. It’s a family tradition that started off with our ancestors setting up basic looms for Persian Hand knotted rugs, the predominant weave existing at the time. The era where they would trudge miles to procure yarns and it took weeks to have them delivered to you, where one single order would be worth their weight and it would take months to just complete it. Once completed, it was another couple of months before the client could eventually rest his eyes on what he ordered, the era where life moved at a leisurely pace and where rugs were a luxury hard to come by.
That’s the history we grew up knowing, about the hard labour of our ancestors and the blood and toil that had gone in to set up a family legacy.
Before we could step into the world of the magic carpet, we did had our diligent corporate experience thinking that’s what it is for us, until the ancestral blood boiled and pulled us back to our roots.
This amalgamation of a solid professional background and the heritage of our tradition put us in a unique position to merge the two and provide unparalleled products and services to our ever discerning and astute clients. Our very approach to manufacturing a rug is systematic and lien of process at the same time ensuring not to take away from the nitty gritty and the nuances that essential make up a hand made rug.
